Traveler purchase
I've followed Jonathan's lead and added additional purchase to the traveler. I changed the singles on each side to fiddles, adding two parts per side. So far, the load is lighter in a breeze and is still smooth to adjust, making it easier for the driver to adjust on the fly. It does involve more string though.

Fiddles? There's a couple of ways that could be set up, eiher at the static end or the dynamic end, depending on the configuration of fiddles you use.
Jim can you post a picture of what you did? I was about to add a purchase in the same fashion as Jonathan to gain mechanical advantage. My concern is that I already have an issue with the sliding block binding on the fitting where the line exits the hull into the cockpit,as well as the line twisting, which adds a great deal of friction. Adding a purchase could result in even more line twist, so I would like to see what you have done with fiddles that may limit twist from happening, if possible.
